Henry Hummert, Ph.D.

“The impact of our work can be powerful, in that it often has a ripple effect beyond the individual or team with whom we are working. It is an honor to be invited to learn about our clients’ unique lives and work stories, and use this information to help them be successful and fulfilled in their careers.”

Henry enjoys discovering the talents and opportunities for growth that each person or team brings to their role, company or organization, helping maximize their effectiveness and contribution to shared goals and objectives. He focuses on assessments, coaching and team building, with a special expertise in conflict management.

He personally understands the challenges of running a business and nurturing its growth—he was an independent business owner for over 10 years. Later in his career, as a department director at a local hospital, he faced the rewards and challenges of administrative duties, hiring, training and supervising direct reports, and collaboratively working across departments and functions in a complex organization. These experiences help him to be an empathic consultant and business partner with his clients.

Henry has been a consultant for television and print media regarding employee satisfaction, effective business leadership and motivational issues in the workplace, and he was a host for a psychology talk show on local radio.

Henry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University, and he earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St. Louis University. He serves as an adjunct faculty member for Washington University’s Department of Psychology.

He’s been a proud Big Brother through Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, and continues on as an advisor to this organization. He enjoys creative writing, publishes his neighborhood newsletter and enjoys long walks with his wife and their loyal canine, Jack.
