Terence Bostic and Ashley Parker will be presenting. Psychological Safety is an increasingly talked about and researched subject, both overall and in international education. It appears to underpin issues of Diversity/Equity/Inclusion and is highly predictive of team effectiveness. Broadly, it is the shared belief held by members of a team that the team is safe for interpersonal risk-taking. We know that better teams aren’t making more mistakes – they have a climate where people can acknowledge mistakes. Cultivating Psychological safety on your teams and in your schools fosters the confidence to take interpersonal risks, allowing oneself and one’s colleagues to learn and focus on collective goals and problem prevention rather than on self-protection. In this presentation, we will discuss what you can do to maximize and utilize Psychological Safety in your school’s teams.
HK time – 8:00 AM on February 20.
