Management Systems/Processes
-
All organizations function by a set of processes (i.e., how the work is done to serve customers).
-
Management is responsible for an organization’s processes and systems.
-
Within a process, there are internal suppliers and internal customers who function in an interdependent fashion to form the process chain.
-
To improve organizational performance, processes must be improved.
-
To fully understand management systems and process, must look at the organization vertically (reporting relationships) and horizontally (process flows).
CMA Approach
-
Understand results each process must achieve for customers, organization and its employees.
-
Lead benchmarking effort, if appropriate.
-
Define existing processes, if applicable (e.g., process map), working with managers and employees involved in the process. Enhance and streamline processes.
-
Develop new processes, if needed, by adapting (not adopting) benchmarked processes.
