“Inside-out” process uses internal, collective knowledge about the markets. The Industry Analysis (below) is not performed.

“Outside-in” process uses external sources of data. Learning and discovery are stretched to expand knowledge beyond normal and typical realms. Industry Analysis is conducted.

Assist executive team in selecting the markets to be studied.

Assist in selecting teams who will analyze each selected market.

Train each team to conduct the strategic planning analysis. A set of CMA developed questions aligned with the planning model guides the team.

Provide guidance to each team as it collects and analyzes data and prepares its presentation to executives.

Assist the leadership team in integrating team results into a unified strategic plan with prioritized goals.
